5 Tips for Training Your Dog

When raising dogs, are owners often troubled by the dog's disobedience and difficulty in training? When training dogs, pay attention to these 5 training skills, beginners who don't know how to train a dog can save this article.

 Dog Training

Let the dog remember his name

Giving your dog a name is the first step in training your dog, and then having your dog memorize his own name. Call the name repeatedly, and when the dog looks at you, give encouragement. After the dog is familiar with the name, you can proceed to the next step of training. Connect the name to the command, and they will identify with their own name.

The right time to train

Training time is also a knowledge that needs to be accurately grasped by the owner. Dogs generally start training around 3 months after birth. During this time, the dog is just beginning to have its own consciousness, and the obedience is better, so it is easier for the dog to be trained. It is recommended that each training time should not be too long, and use a short, scattered, and multiple times method, such as: 20 minutes of training a day is changed to twice a day, each of 10 minutes of training. Dogs will also remain curious and patient.

Commands and gestures remain the same and are easy to remember

When training dogs, don’t change commands and gestures frequently, otherwise it’s easy to confuse the dog’s memory. Commands should also be matched with fixed gestures. The simpler the commands, the better.

Sit down: If you want to train your dog to sit down, you must first make the dog concentrate, point your finger to the dog's buttocks, and say "sit down", let it complete the instruction, and be sure to give a reward in time after completion!

Handshake: To let the dog learn to shake hands, first let the dog know the left and right hands. You can touch the dog's paw with your hand, stretch out his palm to ask for a handshake, and practice a few times to make the dog more familiar. When the training is completed , please remember to praise and reward your dog.

Lie down: first lure the dog with food, slowly move the food from the bottom of the dog's mouth to the front, issue the "lie down" command and press the dog's body with the palm of your hand, let the dog lie down slowly .

Don't pouncing: When the dog wants to pounce on, the owner stops it in time, pushes it away with the palm of his hand, and says "no" loudly and seriously.

Scolding moderately

If your dog is making trouble or making a mistake, the owner can stop it and give appropriate scolding and punishment, but the punishment must be carried out in time. If your dog is punished after something has happened, he will not know that he did something wrong and will continue to make the same mistake later. Using this wrong way will confuse the dog, he will not know why he is being punished, and he will be afraid of his owner. Try to avoid hitting the dog when punishing the dog. The dog will connect the feeling of fear with people. When he has a sense of distance from you, it will be more difficult for you to train.

Praise and reward

When the dog has completed the training, and it is over-completed, the owner should give the dog some verbal praise or some snacks. The reward should be given as soon as the dog does the right training. The best treat is to choose some dog-specific teeth grinding treats, and it can also help clean teeth and remove tartar.

Properly training your dog can add joy to life and reduce conflict, but remember that it must be done in a scientific and effective way.
